The festival of Dussehra, symbolizing good over evil, was celebrated with pomp keeping in mind the rules of Kovid. The effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnad were burnt in the city. As soon as the effigy of Ravana was burnt, the cheers of Shri Ram resonated. This time a 45 feet effigy was burnt in Lajpat Nagar.
The Ravana of the parade was the center of attraction. Ravana of 85 feet was burnt from the remote. Ramlila was also staged here. There were also fireworks at various places in the city. A 45 feet effigy of Ravana was burnt in the rail market on behalf of Shri Chhawani Ramlila Committee.
Committee chairman Siddharth Kashiwar said that food stalls were not set up around the ground so that there could be no crowd inside the ground. A 45 feet effigy was also burnt in Shri Ram Leela Samiti Chhota Center Park Shastri Nagar.
Sarvesh Shukla Bambam of the committee said that the fireworks were the main center of attraction. 40 feet effigy was burnt in Zoo Guava Mandi. 38 feet effigy was burnt in Kailash Mandir Shivala.
